Public Library offers Halloween-themed storytime for toddlers

The McKinney Public Library System is hosting a Cultural Storytime program for children ages 3 to 5 on Monday, October 5, 2026. The event, themed around Halloween, will take place at the John and Judy Gay Library from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The program is designed to celebrate different cultures and support early literacy skills through stories, songs, and rhymes. According to the library, the session will include a welcome, a hello song, songs and stories, trivia, dancing, bubbles, and a craft stamp activity. The stated goals of the program are to enhance literacy, present diverse perspectives, and foster community involvement.

Caregivers are required to remain with their children for the duration of the program. Registration is mandatory, and there are currently six seats available. Participants must select the number of attendees during the online registration process. The library notes that while the event is listed as in-person, the registration confirmation email will contain the specific event URL.

The Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library is currently closed for renovations. During this period, holds and returns are available at the John and Judy Gay Library and McKinney City Hall. A second date for this storytime series is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026.

Attendees must consent to the use of their voice, name, or likeness in promotional materials without compensation. By registering, participants release the City of McKinney and its assignees from liability. Individuals who do not wish to be subject to these terms are advised not to attend.
