The City of McKinney has announced the details for the Red, White and BOOM! Independence Day celebration on July 4, 2026. The event is divided into two main segments: a daytime parade and block party in downtown McKinney, and an evening fireworks and concert at Towne Lake Park.
The daytime festivities begin at 10 a.m. with the Hometown Parade in downtown McKinney. Following the parade, the East Louisiana Block Party runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents are encouraged to explore local dining and shopping options in the downtown area. The application for the Hometown Parade is currently closed. Parking maps and additional information are available through McKinney Main Street.
The evening portion of the celebration takes place at Towne Lake Park, located at 1405 Wilson Creek Pkwy, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from the Grady Littlejohn Softball Fields. The schedule includes an 80’s Mix Tape Performance from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., a stage break, and a second performance from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
