The McKinney Public Library System will host a bilingual storytime program for children ages 3 to 5 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. The event takes place at the John and Judy Gay Library from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The program allows children to explore stories in English and Spanish. Activities include stories, songs, movement, and playful activities designed to introduce Spanish in a welcoming environment. The theme for this session is transportation.

The event structure includes a welcome, a hello song, a bilingual song and story, games, vocabulary exercises, a craft, and a clean-up period. The library states the program aims to enhance literacy, offer creative learning opportunities, and foster community involvement.

Caregivers must remain with their children for the duration of the program. Registration is required, and there are 22 seats available. Participants must select the number of attendees when registering. The online event URL will be sent via email upon confirmation of registration.

The Roy and Helen Hall Memorial library is currently closed for renovations. Holds and returns are available at the John and Judy Gay Library and McKinney City Hall.

By attending the event, participants consent to their voice, name, and likeness being used in promotional materials without compensation. They also release the City of McKinney assignees and licensees from liability. Those who do not wish to be subject to these terms should not attend.
