Dallas Cowboys safety P.J. Locke left the team's home opener against the Washington Commanders after sustaining a foot injury during Washington's first drive. The injury occurred in Locke's second game with Dallas.
A FOX replay showed Locke moving toward a tackle before beginning to limp without making contact with another player. He was assisted from the field by two members of the training staff and later went to the locker room under his own power, according to reports cited by Sports Illustrated.
Dallas had already ruled safety Malik Hooker out of the game because of a forearm injury. The additional injury created another defensive concern for the Cowboys during their Week 2 matchup.
Locke joined Dallas this offseason on a one-year contract worth $4 million after spending his first six NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos. He recorded two tackles in the Cowboys' season-opening loss to the New York Giants.
