The Dallas Cowboys have moved linebackers Curtis Robinson and Justin Barron from the practice squad to the active roster for their Week 2 game against the Washington Commanders. The matchup is the Cowboys’ home opener and is scheduled for Sunday.
The roster move comes as DeMarvion Overshown deals with a hamstring injury. The Cowboys have not provided a clear timetable for his absence. Robinson and Barron give Dallas additional linebacker depth and can also play on special teams.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Friday that rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham would wear the green-dot helmet in place of Overshown. The green dot identifies the player responsible for receiving defensive calls.
The moves follow Dallas’ 28-20 loss to the New York Giants in Week 1. The NFL fined running back Javonte Williams $11,941 for unsportsmanlike conduct involving taunting. Outside linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku received the same fine for a facemask penalty, while Overshown was fined $9,527 for a late hit on Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart.
