North Texas will begin its 2026-27 nonconference season Nov. 2 against Southwest Christian, starting a four-game run at the Super Pit. McNeese follows Nov. 5, with Santa Clara scheduled for Nov. 11 and South Alabama for Nov. 14. McNeese and Santa Clara played in the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama appeared in the NIT.
Overall, the slate features three NCAA Tournament teams from last season and two NIT teams.
The Mean Green’s first road game is Nov. 20 at App State in Boone, North Carolina. North Texas then will compete in the Snake Rivers Invitational, held Nov. 27-29 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State are listed as the event’s opponents.
North Texas will have six nonconference games after returning to Texas, including five in Denton. Bradley is scheduled for Dec. 4, followed by Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6. The team will meet Texas State Dec. 13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth during the Coast-to-Coast Challenge, its second straight appearance in the event.
The final games are at home against Winthrop on Dec. 16, Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 20 and the University of the Southwest on Dec. 22. The American Conference schedule will be released later. Season tickets can be obtained from the Mean Green Ticket Office at 940-565-2527 or ticketoffice@unt.edu.
