Houston Texans starting linebacker Henry To'oTo'o is expected to miss an undetermined amount of time because of a shoulder injury sustained in the team's season opener, coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday.
Ryans said the Texans have not decided whether to place To'oTo'o on injured reserve. "We'll see. We haven't made a decision yet, but we'll see how that goes," Ryans said.
To'oTo'o was hurt with 2:34 left in the fourth quarter of Houston's 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The linebacker was involved in a tackle of Bills tight end Dawson Knox, then needed help standing before going to the sideline. He did not return to the game.
Houston is scheduled to play the Cincinnati Bengals at home, visit the Indianapolis Colts and then host the Dallas Cowboys over the next three weeks. Each of those teams ranked among the NFL's top 12 scoring offenses last season.
The Bills' 36 points were the second-highest total Houston has allowed during Ryans' tenure. The Texans previously gave up 37 points to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023. The game also marked Houston's first time allowing more than 30 points since a 31-point performance by the Baltimore Ravens in a Christmas game in 2024.
