Pederson Powers Offense
Joc Pederson delivered the offensive spark for the Texas Rangers with two home runs, helping secure a 7-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday at Globe Life Field. Pederson’s performance was pivotal in overcoming an early deficit, as he launched a solo shot in the first inning and a three-run homer in the second.
Pederson’s first blast traveled 418 feet to center field, giving Seattle an initial 1-0 lead. However, the Mariners’ advantage was short-lived. In the bottom of the second inning, Pederson connected again, this time driving the ball 347 feet to right field. That hit scored two additional runs, putting the Rangers ahead 4-1 and shifting the momentum of the game.
Rangers Extend Lead
The Rangers continued to apply pressure in the third inning, scoring four runs to pull away from Seattle. The scoring began when Ezequiel Duran hit a home run to left-center field, measuring 436 feet, to make it 5-2. Shortly after, Josh Jung’s home run to left-center field, which traveled 403 feet, added two more runs, extending the lead to 7-2.
Seattle managed to score a run in the ninth inning when Caleb Naylor crossed home plate on a sacrifice fly by Evan Crawford, making the final score 7-3. Despite the late run, the Mariners could not overcome the early deficit.
