Mariners Edge Astros 3-2 in Four-Home Run Affair

Final Inning Pressure

Andres Munoz secured the victory for the Seattle Mariners by recording the save in the final inning. The closer pitched one inning, allowing no earned runs while striking out two batters. Although he walked one hitter, his performance helped preserve the team's narrow lead over the Houston Astros at Daikin Park.

The Mariners finished the game with a 3-2 win, improving their season record to 59-66. The Astros, who played as the home team, dropped to 63-62 in the standings after the loss.

Houston answered immediately in the bottom half of the sixth as Allen hit a 387-foot home run to left, making the score 3-2.

Pitching Performance

Bryan Woo earned the win for Seattle, pitching six innings while allowing three hits and two earned runs. He also issued one walk and struck out five batters. On the mound for Houston, Hunter Brown took the loss.

He pitched five innings, allowing three hits and two earned runs while issuing five walks and striking out five. The Astros' relief corps included Bennett Sousa, who pitched one inning and allowed one earned run, and Bryan Abreu, who pitched one inning without allowing earned runs. Steven Okert and Josh Hader each pitched one inning in the late frames.

Hader allowed one hit and no earned runs, striking out one batter. The Mariners' bullpen, including Eduard Bazardo, Gabe Speier, and Seranthony Dominguez, managed the middle innings to set up the save. Dominguez pitched one-third of an inning, allowing one hit and no earned runs.
