Café Brazil has reopened in McKinney at 318 N. Central Expressway, marking the chain's return to the city more than a decade after its previous location closed. The new site operates 24 hours a day from Tuesday through Saturday, while maintaining reduced hours on Mondays and Sundays.
This schedule positions the restaurant as a late-night dining option in an area where many other establishments close earlier.
Lindsay Pultz, the company's CEO and owner, stated that the family has deep ties to the business. Pultz and her husband purchased Café Brazil in 2025 after each spending 24 years working for the company.
The next generation is also involved in the operation; one son serves as the general manager for the McKinney location, another works as a server there, and two other children hold positions elsewhere in the organization. Pultz noted that the company employs multiple families across its locations.
The restaurant's history in McKinney dates back to 2005, when it opened a location that operated until 2012. The original site closed when the lease expired and the company could not reach a profitable agreement with the landlord. Pultz described the recent opportunity to return as unexpected, noting that the previous tenant wanted to transfer the lease.
She cited the location's accessibility from the highway as a key factor in the decision.
Although the new space is smaller than some other Café Brazil locations, Pultz said the layout helps the kitchen maintain quick service times during busy periods. The menu includes all-day breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, with specific choices available for vegetarian and vegan diets. The interior features a bookshelf with books for adults and children, along with games for customers to use without screens.
