Frisco opened its District 4-5A Division II football schedule with a dominant performance against Independence on Tuesday night. The Raccoons secured a 48-0 shutout at The Ford Center at The Star, marking their first win after splitting their initial two games of the season. Frisco accumulated 477 total yards in just 40 offensive snaps, averaging 12.5 yards per carry.
Senior Brennen Lacey led the ground attack with seven carries for 163 yards and three touchdowns, averaging more than 23 yards per attempt. Other scorers included senior Lowery Asel, junior Kam Anderson, and sophomore Cason Cowan on the ground, while Asel also added a receiving touchdown during a three-catch, 70-yard performance.
Lone Star maintained its perfect start with a 56-27 victory over Cedar Hill. The Rangers amassed 601 total yards, with junior quarterback Trey Wright accounting for 481 of them. Wright completed passes for 401 yards and four touchdowns while adding a rushing score on an 80-yard run.
Senior Zach Forbish caught 10 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Class 6A opponent.
In another district opener, McKinney North defeated Lakeview Centennial 31-21. The Bulldogs relied heavily on their running game, executing 61 carries compared to just four pass attempts. They gained 442 rushing yards at an average of 7.25 yards per carry.
Senior John Richardson carried the ball 23 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns, while freshman Kingston Norwood added 111 yards and two scores on 20 attempts.
