Prosper Rock Hill football defeated McKinney Boyd 27-0 in the District 6-6A season opener at McKinney ISD Stadium. The Blue Hawks improved their record to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play, while the Broncos fell to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in conference games.
Junior Michael Alfred-Iyamu was the primary offensive force for the visitors, rushing for 209 yards and scoring two touchdowns. He opened the scoring with a 77-yard run late in the first quarter and extended the lead to 14-0 with a 52-yard score on the next possession.
Backfield mate Malachi Thompson added a two-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to increase the margin to 21-0. The Blue Hawks finished with 380 total rushing yards, averaging nearly eight yards per carry, with Brayden Lucas contributing 77 yards on 10 carries.
Rock Hill head coach Mark Wilkinson, in his fifth season, noted that the team is in a competitive district and emphasized the importance of starting with a victory. He described the offense as a mix of various components, stating that the team aims to play with confidence. "We’re in a loaded district," Wilkinson said.
"Boyd has a good team, and it was important for us to start off with a win."
The second half saw neither team score a touchdown. Boyd came within five yards of a score early in the third quarter but faced a turnover at the Rock Hill five-yard line. Liam Spencer, a junior, kicked a 36-yard field goal with 10:25 remaining in the fourth quarter to make it 24-0. He later added a 27-yard field goal to finalize the 27-0 result.
