Noah Brown, a former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, marking a new chapter in his NFL career. The Raiders announced the signing on Sunday, indicating they are adding a seasoned and physical receiver to their roster. To accommodate Brown, the team released defensive tackle Benito Jones.
Brown joins the Raiders after spending two seasons with the Washington Commanders, where injuries limited his availability, causing him to miss 19 games. Despite these setbacks, he showcased his potential, recording 40 receptions for 536 yards and a touchdown during his time in Washington, averaging 13.4 yards per catch.
Dallas fans may recall Brown as a reliable player who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft after his college career at Ohio State. Although he was not a primary target for the Cowboys, he established himself as a valuable asset through his strong blocking, special teams contributions, and versatility in playing various receiver positions.
His most productive season with Dallas came in 2022, where he caught 43 passes for 555 yards and three touchdowns, serving as a crucial secondary option for quarterback Dak Prescott. Following his time with the Cowboys, Brown signed with the Houston Texans, where he had 33 receptions for 567 yards and two touchdowns in a single season, averaging an impressive 17.2 yards per reception.
Throughout his NFL career, Brown has accumulated 155 receptions for 2,083 yards and six touchdowns. While these statistics may not reflect superstar status, they highlight his consistent value as a veteran willing to undertake the less glamorous aspects of the position.
