The Texas Rangers overcame an early deficit to secure a 5-3 victory against the Oakland Athletics at Sutter Health Park on Sunday. The turning point arrived in the sixth inning when Josh Langford launched a home run, providing the margin that would ultimately define the contest.

Oakland had seized control early in the second inning. Travis Bolton homered to left field, driving in two runs after an umpire review overturned the initial call. This three-run burst gave the A’s a 3-0 lead they would not relinquish entirely, though the Rangers mounted a steady comeback throughout the middle frames.

Rangers Rally Behind Pitching and Power

MacKenzie Gore started for Texas, delivering a critical performance despite giving up runs. Gore pitched 5.2 innings, allowing eight hits and three earned runs while striking out five batters. His outing was enough to earn the win, improving his record to 7-9.

Athletics Efforts Fall Short

J.T. Ginn took the loss for Oakland, starting the game and going 6.0 innings. He gave up eight hits and four earned runs, though he did strike out seven batters without issuing a walk. His record dropped to 8-7.

Brady Basso pitched 1.2 innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs while striking out two. Scott Blewett contributed 1.1 innings of relief, giving up two hits and one run along with one walk and one strikeout.

The final score of 5-3 marked the end of a four-game skid for the Rangers. The Athletics fell to 48-75 on the season, while Texas improved to 61-63.
