Key Performances
George Klassen secured his first Major League victory for the Los Angeles Angels, pitching six innings and allowing just two earned runs against the Texas Rangers. He surrendered five hits and one walk while striking out five batters in a complete outing that kept the Rangers off balance for the majority of the contest.
The Angels’ offense provided necessary support through timely hitting. Mike Trout contributed significantly with two singles, including one that drove in a run in the sixth inning. Will Smith also played a pivotal role with a solo home run in the third inning that gave Los Angeles an early lead.
Game Flow
The Rangers struck first in the second inning when Andrew Heaney walked to load the bases, allowing Seager to score from third. However, the Angels responded immediately in the top of the third when Smith launched a home run to right field, putting Los Angeles ahead 2-1 after Trout’s single added another run.
The game remained tight until the sixth inning, where Los Angeles broke it open. Austin Slater doubled to left, scoring Grissom. Slater advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Guzman and scored on Trout’s subsequent single. Frazier then reached on an infield single, allowing Neto to score from third, extending the Angels’ lead to 5-2.
